2013 Collectible Ornament
Creaking wood floors, a rolling ladder and a wooden sales counter with nail filled bins gave customers and visitors a glimpse of the past. Founded by Thomas Jefferson Morris circa 1866, the business was sold to his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Wiley McGinnis. McGinnis Hardware was known to stock hard to find items as well as general hardware merchandise. Six generations of the family worked here until the business closed in December 2012.
After 156 years, the new store owners, Damon and Dawn Waxler, preserved the history and enhanced the beauty of the historic building. They expanded their business Dixie Pickers, a menís clothing, hunting and sports memorabilia store and re-opened May of 2013.
The 2013 Collectible Christmas ornament is an annual project of Main Street Collierville.
